Background information

For my university project in the Advanced Topics in Web Development module, I developed a RESTful currency conversion microservice. As the backend developer, I used PHP to create the API, handling server-side logic and CRUD operations. MySQL was used for database management to store and retrieve currency data efficiently.

I built a responsive client-side interface using HTML5 and JavaScript, incorporating AJAX for asynchronous server requests, providing a seamless user experience. Robust error handling ensured the service could manage issues gracefully, returning informative XML or JSON messages.

This project enhanced my skills in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and HTML5, emphasizing the importance of integrating these technologies to build a functional and user-friendly application.
